IAQ - Indoor Air Quality by AC Breeze

When we made the decision to finally take the leap and spend the money for a whole house air cleaner we had to decide on which one was going to do the job. Being an Air Conditiining  Contractor was not alone a reason to jump to one brand over another. We have several distributors we deal with and they all want us to choose their system. Each one claims that their system is the best. When it comes to our family, nothing is ever good enough. It was not going to be a quick decision. Left with an important decision to make, understanding that going directly to our salesmen from our distributors would most likely be a mistake due to their stake in the game, we decided to do the next most logical thing- social media  and search engine research. Prepared to go any way we thought the way to start was to do a search of "best whole house air cleaners" to see what would show up. Who would be the best source of info?  The results will astound you. What do you think happened?  Where did we get the best information and how did it all turn out?  You want to hear this!  I wonder if you already figured it out. It definitely was not as expected and has changed the way we will market and sell IAQ now and in the future.   First let me say that looking on Search Engines, I thought, was futile.  Each company had a bunch of reasons theirs was best and we all know by now that is not the way to determine the truth. Social Media was also not much help as no one really responded specifically about a brand and most didn't even know the technology. At this point I admit being discouraged and has decided to put the project off for a while because i did not want to settle. Spending money on something this important was not going to be taken lightly. We work too hard for our money to waste it. I wanted a 98% assurance that this was going to accomplish what I wanted. My 11 year old and myself have horrible allergies. Chris especially goes through this sneezing and coughing fits that take all his energy away. Additionally we have 5 small dogs that use a pee pee pad to relieve their bladders and poop on them as well. The allergies and smells are a big concern that we want resolved.  We already could not get product we were convinced would really do the job.  It was at this desperate moment that I realized what I needed to do. What I should have done right from the beginning. We have many customers that have installed different units in their AC Systems. They would be the ones that could help us decide which one is best for us.  First thing I started with is a list of questions I wanted to ask so that I could be thorough in my analysis. I went though the process and began to call our customers. Everyone was happy to share their thoughts and after all was said and done, there was a clear answer. All of the units had many positive  aspects that I liked but one did a great job in all of the areas that were most important to me. We put that system in place. Within 24 hours there was a dramatic change. Now approximately 2 weeks later, we all enjoy a completely different enjoyment and comfort in our home. Wow!  The moral of this story is not which brand of air cleaner is best but I would be happy to share with you which one we choose if you ask. The moral though is that when something that is important to you and has a major effect on your family, don't settle for just what a company or sometimes what one person tells you.  Instead do you due dilegence and reach out to people that have the same issues and what they did. Follow up and read reviews of products. Don't just take what one or two say but look at the overall ratings. It can help you make some great decisions and save you the expense wasted in trying products that fail and you ultimately throw away and waste your money on. Cool Off Day

Today started out at a cool 60 degrees. No need for air conditioning. Open the windows and allow your home to exchange the air in the home. The newer the home the more air right the homes are becoming. Ventilation is an important part of conditioning your air. Due to the lack of food ventilation in most homes you want to open up windows when the weather allows you to.

Story of a boy

Sitting outside far away fro any air conditioning, this boy plainly was sweating profusely from the heat outside. The temperature had reached close to 90 and there seemed to be no break in site. 

This boy could only be not older then 6 or 7 and the fact that he was sitting there alone was a red flag for me. I was riding along this day with one of our technicians observing how he was presenting out new air quality product. Sitting in the van while our technician went into a home to pick up a tool he had left the day before, I closely watched this boy. After about 10 minutes I finally called to him to come over to our vehicle. He was pleasant enough and very respectful. I asked him why he was by himself sitting in the middle of what seemed the hottest part of his yard and just sitting there. What he said to me was sweet and heart breaking at the same time. He said that he was outside so his mom and baby sister could try to be cool inside their house where it was pretty hot. He said he was hopping that without one more person inside they could be more comfortable. Here was this little boy being so grown up and being so unselfish.  He said that they live in a home that only has a fan and that their air conditioner hadn't worked for a very long time. We happened to be in the right place at the right time and were able to help that family that day. We just knew that Gid placed us in that spot at that time for all the right reasons.   The next time you are placed in a circumstance that you are able to show neighborly love, do it. The Story Of My Life

How Air conditioning became a part of our life in recent years must be told starting as a child. As I lived my life as a child I knew that having my own business was something I aspired for. Started at the age of 12, I had my own portable store that I would set up at different locations and would sell items that I would buy at a wholesale store about a mile from my home. I remember buying 10 sodas for $1.00. I would resell the sofa for .50 each. I would make and buy other food products as well as items that I thought would sell. I called that store The Doodle Shop.  I knew at that young age that I could be successful if I believed I could. It was quite a while after, that I would work for myself but along the way I would utilize positions to learn more about business. I won't go on and on in this post with what jobs and all that I learned   But will talk more in future posts. My point is that no one had to put entrepreneurship in my mind. Need for Heat coming soon

When was the last time you had top put type heat on?  MOST of SW Florida air conditioning systems have an accessory called a heat strip. This is all that is needed for the short time heat is called for in our area. Some homes North of us utilize a heat pump system. You really don't have that necessity her in SW Florida. Due to the nature of the heat strip you should have the unit cleaned so you don't have the burn smell or wires being burned from the dust. Air Conditioning in November

It's hard to believe that while most of the US will be cooling down and the last thing on their minds is air conditioning. Here in the south eastern pay off the country we are hoping to at least get some break in the heat. As snow birds flock to our parts we are starting to think we better make sure we are taking care of our lifeline the mighty air conditioner. It's or best friend in the summer months. Crap In Your Lungs-OH MY

I was asked to go to a home a few weeks ago and look at an air conditioning system that the family said they were suffering really bad allergies every time the ac was running.  When we took the cover off the system this is what we saw:

Ouch for the family breathing in this gunk.  Those are chunks of mold.  The mold is going from there to the ducts throughout the home and into the home for everyone to breath.

What can you do to avoid this catastrophe?  Regular Maintenance on the unit including changing your filter each and every month.  Pretty simple right?  It is!

The homeowner learned a valuable lesson that day and they signed up for a regular maintenance program from that point on.  I followed up with this family just yesterday and asked them how it was going and if they had allergy issues still.  I am happy to report that they said that the improvement is remarkable and they are never going to let that happen again.
